How to take quality images of your vehicle for sale
In today's post, we look at how to take quality images of vehicles for advertisement.
Today, more than ever consumers are doing most of their research online when looking for their next vehicle. This means it's now more important than ever to make sure you are taking high quality images, ensuring that you are photographing prepared stock (cleaning, sticker/decal removal etc) in the right orientation such as landscape and in plain surroundings.
Consumers want to see that the vehicle they are interested in buying is of a good standard for their requirements and that they are buying it from a seller that cares about presentation and attention to detail.
Here are some tips about photographing your vehicle for sale to encourage buyer engagement and drive interest.
Remember that different vehicles may look better in different positions/angles so experiment and work out what suits your vehicle. The main thing to remember is that your vehicle should be the centre of attention as it is what you are advertising after all.
- Stand back from a corner and centre the vehicle's front-door mirror or front-door handle in the frame to start with. Experiment with different positions like crouching or holding the camera higher, whichever makes the vehicle look good. You'll want to get an image like this of each corner of the vehicle to give your prospective buyers a view of the vehicle all around. An example can be seen below:
- Many mobile phones use wide-angle by default so try not to get too close as this can make the vehicle look curved.
- Take pictures of each of the side profiles and of the front and back in case prospective buyers ask to see the vehicle from those perspectives. See some example below:
- It's important to show the condition of the interior and a great way to take pictures of the seats is by standing outside the vehicle and leaning in to take the picture. It's also great to take a picture of the front interior, steering wheel and controls which can be achieved by sitting in the back of the vehicle and taking a picture. Some examples can be seen below:
As you can see, by making sure your surroundings are reasonably neutral and that your images are landscape with the vehicle as the centre of attention you can improve the quality of your vehicle listings and increase the changes of getting more enquiries through from prospective buyers.
